| Well, I have made the move to MySpace. I really don't do anything more on there then I do here on Xanga, but a lot of my family and friends have sites so I can check up on them easier. http://www.myspace.com/vanessadeannel Things here are OK. I'm almost finished with this 8 weeks of class. I start the next 8 weeks next Wednesday, but I get like 2-3 weeks off for Christmas! I'm already excited. Of course, I only get off school; church, work and life committments still remain. Matt and I are debating over the PC vs. Mac commercials. Now I am a PC girl all the way. One of my best friends is a Mac man and we tease each other all the time. But I love those commercials. The PC guy is such a cute little nerd and the Mac guy is the cool kid I'll never be. How much of a nerd am I? Well my favorite TV show of all time is X-files and Matt and I are currently watching Star Trek. Life is good. | | |
| Yes, I am alive and all my fingers work. I just don't blog much. But anyway, I am sitting in class tonight and have some free time. I know you think, "Vanessa, you should totally pay attention to class." Well let me tell you, I'm not a genius, but I really don't need to pay attention right now. I'm in Physical Science. The professor is fine, but he is teaching a 100 level class at a high school level. So I'm kind of bored. I though taking two 100 level classes would be easy, but I think it is harder. There are worksheets and other stuff that I haven't seen in years! It's time consuming but not hard. I hate that stuff.
Oh and my other class is Macroeconomics and the teacher is 3 years older than me. That made me feel old. Sheesh.
On other notes:
- Matt and I am dog sitting next week for my brother's dog Cooper. I haven't met this dog but he sure is cute from his pictures.
- I am in season 7 of my X-Files saga. Loving every episode.
- My family sold the farm last week. Sad, but we all need to move forward.
- My parents therefore bought a farm and I climbed one of their silo's on Sunday.
- My car needs new front tires because I am a punk and never rotated the tires.
- I am thinking of getting a myspace. Matt says everyone has one and I should bend to peer pressure. I'm thinking of caving. But I never update this so what's the point?

| Next Sunday we are having an auction at my grandparent's farm. Here's a little history lesson for you. In 1847 my great-great-great-grandpa Joachim Ohmes and family immigrated from Germany and entered in a Land Run to receive land in the "West" from the government. He received 250 acres in St. Peters, MO. Five generations later my Uncle is farming the land. My cousin (so count six generations) is also farming with him. Being a farm in the middle of suburbia isn't the money making venture you might think, and with the passing of my grandmother two years ago has led to use selling the land. Soooo... next Sunday we are having an auction with most of the farm equipment and most of my aunt and uncles house hold items. Here is the link to the auction house website. http://www.thornhillauction.com/061106Ohmes.htm | | |
| I just turned in my project for my last class this 8 weeks. I now have been back in school for one year. It sure feels like a lot longer. Matt continues to make fun of me because I'm carrying a 4.0 in my grad classes. I know, I'm a nerd and I love it! I'm enjoying classes, it's just a lot of work. With church and work and 12 hours a sememster, I'm staying rather busy and drinking more coffee than ever before. I find if you add a package of hot chocolate to your coffee it's quite delicious. But I'm done until next Wednesday so I promised Matt I will actually clean the house this weekend. :) | | |
| Last week I turned 26 years old. I am now closer to 30 than I am to 20. It freaked me out a little. For my birthday I got a bunch of phone calls, e-mails and cards from my family. I have a really cool family. Since I married Matt I get his family too and that's awesome because I offically have the coolest family in the world.
Speaking of family, I started scanning my grandparent's photo albums so we can have them digitally. Some of the pictures are from the early 1900's. It's also a little freaky because I keep looking at pictures of my dad and thinking it is my brother. Oh, and my cousin Todd looks amazingly like my Uncle Ralph who is a spitting image of my Grandpa. It's really neat to see God continue looks, gestures, and attitudes through generations. I'm very proud of my family heritage (ask Matt, I teased that I didn't want to change my maiden name when we got married.)
Matt and I are watching the Olymics right now. I think if I were to pick any sport it would have to be during the summer Olympics because I hate the cold. Snow is OK, but I wish it wasn't so cold. Maybe something in track and field. Oh let's face it, I'm too lazy to do anything for the Olympics. I could judge! I would get to sit and eat lots of yummy food... now I'm hungy. I'm going to go get a piece of my cookie cake that Matt got me for my birthday. YUM! | | |
